Building and maintaining strong family and friend relationships can be hard work – especially with different types of personality involved. We may get to choose our friends, but that’s not usually the case with our families!
Managing conflict in personal situations is easier when we can identify the personalities of the people involved – if we know that rulers and unifiers get upset more easily than examiners and persuaders we can take that into consideration – especially if we know that rulers tend to shout and unifiers are prone to tears! If we know what each personality type does when under stress and what their “zones of discomfort” are it becomes easier to predict their behavior and mitigate elements of your own personal style that could inflame the situation!
Understanding how identical personality types interact, how particular types don’t relate so well, how each one communicates, uses humor, handles stress, makes decisions and relaxes, can make all your personal relationships run more smoothly.
